Square is a long-established provider of card payment services, including a variety of point-of-sale devices that help businesses of all kinds raise their revenue. Square has now added a number of mobile services, including its mobile card reader, which has proven quite popular with business owners on both sides of the Atlantic. Prices
Square offers a mobile card reader for both sides of the Atlantic, with a US edition now available for free when you sign up for the service. As Square points out, this comes with the benefit of straightforward pricing and quick transfers, with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express payments charged at 2.6% + 10¢ .
However, if you want a Square card reader for contactless and chip cards, as well as Apple and Google Pay, the $49 version is required. Your payments will thereafter be processed as soon as the next business day.
Meanwhile, the Square reader is presently available in the UK for £19, and once set up, it will process payments for chip and PIN cards, as well as contactless, for a single flat rate price. from £1.75%.
Characteristics
The Square Reader is available in two versions in the United States: one with a headphone port and one with a Lightning connection, which means it will operate with iOS or Android and can even connect to an Apple PC or Chromebook.
